Mgoun summit Ascent and Ait Bougmaz valley 8 days / 7nights

Adventure trek in Mgoun massif,4h drive away from Marrakech to get to the famous Ait Bougmaz valley, the starting point of the trek where you will meet the team who will help you to do a great experience.

Day 1: Marrakech.

Arrival to Marrakech airport, transfert to the riad in the medina.

Overnight at the Riad free time.

Day 2 : Marrakech – Ait Bougmaz valley – Ikkis Azib n’Ikkiss.

After breakfast, drive towards Ait Bougmaz valley through Demnate small & old city built 40 years before Marrakech, visit the natural Imi n’Ifri bridge and then continue via Ait Blal & the beautiful Ait Boulli valley, arrival to Ait Bougmaz, overnight at the gite in Ikhf n’ighir village.

4-5hrs drive visits & stops included.

3-4hrs walking.
Day 3: Azib n Ikkis (2300m) – col n’Oughri (3450m) – Tarkdite Hut (2900m).

After breakfast, trek up Tizi n’Oughri (3450m), enjoy the spectacular view of Mgoun summit ridge, walk down to Tarkdite plateau, continue to the Hut.

Overnight at the camp.

6hrs walking.

Day 4: Tarkdite camp (2900m) – Mgoun summit (4068m) – Sources Oulilimt (2600m).

Leave the hut around 5am to climb Mgoun summit, 3hrs to get to the ridge of Mgoun and then 2h to the summit, enjoy the views over the whole Mgoun valleys, walk down to source Oulilimt by the other side of the mountains.

Day 5: Sources Oulilimt (2600m) – Ain Aflafal (2250m)

After breakfast, walk down along Assif Oulilimt and enjoy its beautiful & unique geologic forms, possibility to meet the nomadic Berber people with their animals, continue to the camp near Ain Aflafal.

Tighermt n’Ait Ahmed
Day 6 : Ain Aflafal (2250m) – Tizi n’Wensa – Mrabtine – Tizi n’Ait Imi (2905m)– Ikhf n’Ighir (1880m).

After breakfast, walk along the assif & visit Ain Aflafal (natural founaine), easy uphill to cross Tizi n’Tawenza (2600m), down to Tinghmatine gorges to reach Mrabtine berber village, mint tea at the Berber house and then walk up Ouzighmt valley to join the path which will lead us to Tizi n’Ait Imi, visit of Tighermt n’Ait Ahmed, reach the pass after 5hrs walking, enjoy the stunning views over Ait Bougmaz valley, easy walk down to Ait Imi, continue to Ikhf n’Ighir village.

Optional (if you would like to skip the visit of Ouzighimt valley):

Ain Afelafal – Tighremt’n Ait Ahmed – Tizi n’Ait Imi – Ait Bougmaz. 6hrs walking.

Day 7 : Ait Bougmaz(1880m)  – Tizi n’Oughbar (2200m)– Azilal – Marrakech.After breakfast, drive back to Marrakech via Ait Abbass valley, Tizi n’Oughbar and Azilal city continue to visit Ouzoude waterfalls on the way back to Marrakech.Arrival around 6pm, free time or hammam & spa.Overnight at the riad. 5-6hrs driving.
Day 8: Marrakech – home.

Transfer to the airport for the return flight.
